Advice against scams targeting the elderly: the Carabinieri gazebo in Piazza Garibaldi
Piazza Garibaldi, Spoleto
Organised by Comando Provinciale dei Carabinieri di Perugia
The Carabinieri set up a gazebo in Piazza Garibaldi in Spoleto to talk directly with citizens about scams targeting the elderly and how to recognize them in time. The officers explain the behaviors to adopt to protect oneself and one's family members, starting from the situations that occur most often. The basic rules are few and concrete: stay alert, do not let yourself be influenced by haste or fear, and remember that no member of the police forces will ever ask for money, gold or jewels to pay bail, fines or legal fees. The initiative is promoted by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Perugia and is part of a tour of stops in the main squares of the area during festive days.
